you said you love it when i smile big, so i extended the arc across my face.

wide and bright-eyed, gleaming and twinkling. little do you know that you reside within those crevices.

i take advice very seriously, especially when its from you. so when you remind me to water the plant you brought back from your childhood backyard, i put everything into it. water, grime, sunlight - the works. it blooms the way i want us to, and i watch it from afar. i set things up in the chasm between us and i watch it burgeon, ripen and unfold. “it can’t be that bad if i meet you halfway”- i reiterate your words until i run out of breath.

i’m punctual now. i think it has something to do with how you call exactly at half past two. i think it wrings the tardiness out of me, i think my friends will thank you.

"it blooms the way i want us to, and i watch it from afar" holy smokes. something about this piece kept pulling me back in. i've read that line a few times now & i can't quite stop yet. the writing is so subtly piercing, i loooove it
